Thumbprint Heart Cookies
These adorable little thumbprint heart cookies are a sweet Valentine's Day treat! But they also can be made any time of the year when you want to spread a little baked love!!!

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- extra sugar for rolling
- jam, raspberry or other red jam
Instructions
- Cream the butter and sugars. Add in the egg and extract. Stir in all of the dry ingredients until mixed well.
- Scoop 1 Tablespoon, form rounded balls. Roll in sugar and press heart shape with your pinkie!!
- Chill in freezer 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Warm jam 5-10 seconds in microwave and spoon into thumbprint.
- Bake on parchment paper lined sheet at 350° 10-13 minutes until edges are starting to turn golden.
- Enjoy!!!
