Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup of white sugar, 1 cup of brown sugar, and 2 cups of flour. Cut in 1/2 cup of softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Measure out 1/2 cup of this mixture and set it aside to add to the top of the cake before baking.
Beat in the baking soda and salt. Then beat in the buttermilk, egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
Mix until just combined.
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
Sprinkle the nuts and chopped Heath Bars or Heath Bar pieces over the top.
Sprinkle the reserved 1/2 cup of streusel mixture evenly over the top of the cake.
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
Once cooled, slice and serve your delicious Heath Bar Cake with its irresistible streusel topping and crunchy Heath Bar pieces on top!
