Inspiration for Harvest Stars Quilt Pattern
I’ve been inspired by the yellow and gray color combination for a long time! I definitely wanted to design a quilt that allowed these colors to compliment each other perfectly.
As I look around the countryside here in Wisconsin, I see sprawling fields of corn. I am lucky to live among these beautiful farming landscapes!
Once Jack Frost visits, the green fields of corn turn to gold. It’s stunning!
Look around and find large golden bales of hay and straw sprinkled among the farmers’ fields.
So…the golden harvest was a huge inspiration for this easy quilt pattern!
Substitute the yellows and grays for reds and greens and turn Harvest Stars into a Christmas quilt pattern!
Farmhouse Style Quilts

I’m also in love with farmhouse style décor! And nothing says farmhouse more than gingham!
The nine patch blocks and sashing in the Harvest Stars quilt pattern make up an easy gingham design.
Make star quilt blocks in the Ohio Star style!
Make these simple blocks using a quick and easy quarter square triangle technique using half square triangles!
Pairing the gingham with star quilt blocks and voila! Harvest Stars was born!!
Fabric for the Harvest Stars quilt pattern
Use a variety of yellow and gold cotton quilting fabric was used to make up the stars in this pretty Harvest Stars quilt. I love scrappy quilts, and each star in this quilt is a different fabric to achieve that scrappy look.
Solid grays and cream fabrics make up the rest of the quilt. The binding is a dark gray print fabric.
