These donut muffins use very basic ingredients that you probably already have in your fridge or pantry!

Flour, sugar, butter, milk, baking powder, cinnamon and a little nutmeg is all it takes to whip up these delicious little delights!!!

Making the Donut Muffins…

These donut muffins mix together so quickly you can go ahead and preheat your oven to 375 degrees right away.

In a medium-sized mixing bowl stir together the 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup melted butter, and nutmeg.

adding butter

Stir in the milk.

Then mix in the baking powder and flour until just combined. It’s ok if there are a few lumps left!

Spray mini muffin tins with non-stick baking spray. Fill 24 tins about 1/2 full.

Bake until lightly golden on the top, about 15 minutes.

Turn out onto a plate and let them cool just a minute so you can pick them up.

While the donut muffins are cooling a minute, melt the other 1/4 cup butter.

In a small dish combine the other 1/2 cup sugar and the cinnamon.

Dip the top of the muffins in butter and roll in the sugar.

Set back on the plate or a wire rack to finish cooling.

That’s all there is to having nummy little sweet treats to have with coffee or tea!!!

If you’re planning on making these muffins ahead of time, I would freeze them prior to adding the cinnamon sugar topping.

Freeze the muffins in a single layer in a freezer bag or container. Then when you’re ready to have them let them thaw. Dip the thawed muffins in the melted butter and roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture.

By doing this you can even thaw a couple at a time!!

Enjoy!!!
