Salted Caramel White Russian Cocktail Recipe

glass of salted caramel white Russian drink

The Salted Caramel White Russian cocktail recipe is the perfect whiskey drink for a before or after dinner cocktail! Actually, it’s the perfect anytime whiskey cocktail!!

This flavorful cocktail can easily take the place of dessert!  Why have a piece of cake when you can have a dessert cocktail, lol!!

As one of the more decadent cocktails I make, the Salted Caramel White Russian is perfect to serve over the holiday season!  But it’s also a great recipe to make any time of year!!  You’ll be hooked with just the first sip!!!

Salted Caramel White Russian Drink Ingredients

I use a Crown Royal Salted Caramel whiskey shot and a shot of Kahlua for the base liquors in this alcoholic drink.  You might have to open your pocketbook a bit to stock your liquor cabinet with these two, but it’s well worth the money!!

liquors and cream and a glass with caramel sauce in it

Rather than hitting up the liquor store, I saved up my local grocery store bonus bucks.  When I had enough I splurged on the Kahlua, lol! That didn’t make it feel like such a splurge to also buy the Crown.

But honestly, these two liquors make quite a few drinks. So while it might seem like a splurge at first, you’ll get your money’s worth with all the yumminess you’ll be able to serve up!!  Kahlua also goes well with Bailey’s Irish Cream over ice, just saying!

I also use half and half for the mix. You can substitute either milk or heavy cream for half and half if you prefer.

You’ll also use caramel sauce (or salted caramel sauce) and a little sea salt, and whipped cream if you want! to decorate and enhance the flavors of this caramel cocktail.

Mixing These Fun Cocktails

Use an old-fashioned glass, or a short glass for this delicious drink.  Coat the glass with caramel.  While there might be various ways to coat the glass, I think the best way to do this is to drizzle the inside of the rim with caramel syrup and swirl it around to allow the caramel to drip down the insides of the glass.

If you want to really get crazy you can also add a little chocolate syrup to the glass!!!  Yum!

Fill the glass halfway with ice cubes.

Add the salted caramel whiskey and the coffee liqueur to the ice. Pour the cream over the whiskey and liqueur. Swirl to mix.

Serving this Sweet After Dinner Drink

If you’d like, you can spray some whipped cream on top of this after dinner drink. This is optional, but oh so yummy!!  Another option is to add a maraschino cherry to the top!!

Drizzle a bit more caramel sauce over the top, and sprinkle with the sea salt.
