Ingredients for the Baked Bean Recipe

I usually have the ingredients for these crazy beans on hand. So I’ll make them as a last minute compliment to chicken, ribs, steak, or just about any other meat I’m serving.

Bacon, hamburger, and onion add the heartiness to these Crazy Beans. Fry them up, and add them in!!

mixing brown sugar and ketchup into the beans

You can either use a large can of Bush beans, or two medium-size cans. Butter beans, brown sugar, ketchup, onion, and salt & pepper is all there’s to it!

Making the Baked Bean Recipe

This is such an easy recipe to make!!

Mix ’em Up!

I usually mix together the beans, brown sugar, and ketchup first in a large casserole. Then, mix in the cooked meats and onion. Stir well. Cover, and bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.

In a pinch for time, I’ve cooked these beans on the stove until they were hot and bubbly. But they’re oh-so-much better baked up!!

Serving Ideas

Recently, I made Crazy Beans to round out a meal of ribs. I served them along with Au Gratin potatoes. You can get the recipe for the Au Gratins by clicking here. Sooo yummy all together!! No room for dessert with this meal, lol!!
